The medical mission was sponsored Pastor Julian Taylor and the church with support from Dr. David Morris and his team from Southern Hill Baptist church; Tulsa Oklahoma
The medical team from Tulsa consisted of one(1) doctor, five (5) nurses and eighteen (18) volunteers. While the team from Ghana included five (5) doctors from korle-bu and lekma Polyclinic, twelve (12) nurses and one hundred(100) volunteers. Hence a total of 2200 people from Nungua,Teshie, Baatsonaa, Sakumono and Lashibi received medical attention .
The setup for the medical outreach was the general procedure for medical activities, thus Registration, checking of blood pressure and temperature, then moving on to the consulting area to see the doctor then finally the dispensary. There was also provision for laboratory services and optometry. Glasses was given to patients who had visual and sight problem.
According to a report from one of the nurses malaria was a prevalent complaint of people between the ages of 6-40 whereas high blood pressure and hypertension was increasingly common in patients from the age of 41.As a church on mission provision was made for counseling and prayer section was provided as pastors moved amongst the patients and offered prayer.
