This year’s women’s convention was held at the Maranatha Power Ministries, Koforidua branch from the 15th – 19th February, 2017 under the theme “The complete woman, Proverbs 31”. The host for this program was the first lady of the Maranatha Power Ministries International, Rev. Mrs Valerie Afotey Odai with Minister Shana Cheeks as the guest speaker from USA.

They encouraged the women of the church in the Lord and empowered them financially through training in tie-and-dye making, cream making and sore ointment making. The first lady of the church and her team including Minister Shana Cheeks also visited Chorkor, a fishing community in Accra, the capital town of Ghana, to encourage the market women there and to give out clothes and mosquito nets.

One of the topics Minister Cheeks taught on was love and she enlightened the women to love people no matter what the condition, even when it seems those people do not deserve it. She said God wants us to walk in love because he is love and we are his children. The spirit of God helps us to walk in love and he gives us joy as we walk in love.
