The Changing Your World conference in Takwa was dated from 4th – 6th March 2017 and in general was a well attended and successful program. Takwa is a mining town in the Western Region of Ghana, most of the people are warm and welcoming and are ready to interact with us when we approach them. The weather at Takwa is mostly warm due to the mining activities in the area; however, it rained heavily everyday whiles we were there.
There was a lot of song ministrations on the first day of the crusade by Hannah Marfo who is a seasoned gospel musician in Ghana, as well as other singers in the Maranatha Power Ministries choir, people danced, praised and worshipped to the glory of God. During the preaching of the word and prayer time, the crowd was very involved and talking to a few of them after the program, they were happy and were ready to show up for the next day’s program.
On the Sunday morning, which was the second day of the crusade, we had service at the Maranatha Power Ministries International church formally, Amazing Love Ministry, at Brofoyeduru, a suburb of Takwa. The theme of the sermon was “the fear Factor” and our father, Bishop Francis Afotey Odai who preached the sermon made us to understand that, we should not allow fear to limit us from making decisions that will move us ahead in life and achieve greatness. Rather, we should be bold in following the plan of God and the things the bible teaches us to do that will propel us forward. By the grace of God, some members of the church that had left the church for various reasons were restored back to the church and new souls were won for Christ and they joined the church. The evening crusade on Sunday was well attended; it was obvious that people that came the first day had invited their friends to come since a lot more people showed up despite the rain that was falling when the program started.
Monday, 6th March was the last day of the conference and as always, there is much more excitement and enthusiasm than the days before. The morning started off with training on leadership and financial management seminar by Bishop Francis Afotey Odai. He touched on the principle of obeying the commands and will of God as one of the requirements for success in leadership and in business.. The climax of the program was in the evening of Monday at the Crusade grounds at Takwa community center. The auditorium was filled with people who were ready to pray and worship and anticipating to receive blessings from the Lord. The presence of the Holy Spirit was mighty in the mist of the people and the power of God was present to save and to deliver. There was so much deliverance, healing and testimonies from the crusade, many souls were saved and added to the church.
