In Genesis chapter 4:3-5, Abel gave the first fruits of his crops to God and it pleased the Lord. God blessed him so much that even in death, his blood still speaks.

"And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the ord had respect unto Abel and to his offerings". Genesis 4.4

First fruits is faithfully giving of offering back to God that which in his loving kindness has blessed us with. This is a sign of our allegiance to God as the giver of all we have.
